Abstract
A new series of imidazoles were synthesized by multiple component system through condensation reaction of benzil, substituted
aldehydes, substituted anilines and ammonium acetate. Glacial acetic acid was used as solvent. The bonding behavior and structure of
the prepared compounds have been deduced from infra red spectroscopy, conduction method, and CHN analysis data. The synthesized
imidazoles have been examined for in-vitro antibacterial properties. The results of these studies have shown that all compounds
exhibited fair to major antibacterial activity against one or more bacterial strains.
